So I ran across this company called NetDebt.com. They claim to have the first completely online debt settlement service. It sounds a lot like CareOne Credit except they do debt settlement, not debt management. I talked with Taylor Miles over there and he seems like a very nice person. They have a whole network of lawyers that they work with rather than just some average Joes “trained” in debt settlement.

I have seen some very questionable companies in debt settlement, but I don’t think NetDebt.com is one of them. Because they refer all of their clients to a network of lawyers who handle the actual debt settlement part of the process, it gives them more credibility in my book.

Also, their site is first class. It looks great! Check it out here: NetDebt.com

If anybody has any other information on this company, please let me know. But I’ll tell you, a first impression can go a long way and they are doing everything to make the right first impression in my book.

If you are overwhelmed with lots of credit card, medical and other unsecured debts and don’t see a way out, they just might be the answer you’ve been looking for.

CareOne Service Providers has been around for quite a while. They are a reputable company that focuses more on Debt Management as a form of debt relief, rather than debt settlement. They also help people with debts as low as $2,500 whereas most companies look for $10,000 or greater in unsecured debts.

CareOne Service Providers wants to take a more comprehensive approach in my opinion to your debt situation and have lots of online videos to walk you through the whole process.

Like NetDebt the also try to take a 100% online approach to debt consolidation. They do of course have people on hand that you can call to help you with whatever your questions may be.

Their process now asks what is important to you in handling your credit card debts, getting out of debt quickly or maintaining your credit standing. I believe that they try to assess your needs and they have a new debt settlement program they are launching which they will direct you to if it is right for you.

So, again, CareOne Service Providers takes a lower amount of debt to start and now delivers both options from what I understand – debt management and debt settlement.

So I was reading that Credit Solutions of America is getting some heat from the Texas Attorney Generals office and some others. I’m not quite sure what is going on there yet, but time will tell… is it a case of them getting too big and inevitably getting hit? We’ll have to see. Either way, they are still the largest debt settlement company that exists and they have over 84,000 clients. Apparently they have 1,400 complaints again them through the BBB, but they have settled a large amount of them.

Ya know, what they offer people is a way to avoid bankruptcy and actually make good on their past debts for a lot less than what they owed. You can’t know the whole story on these things so I wouldn’t totally right them off yet.

Just as there is bad press on them right now, there is also some good press too. Check this out:

http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS206188+07-May-2009+BW20090507

One thing I found interesting about Credit Solutions was that the original Founder, Doug Van Arsdale, sold the company in 2006 and then actually bought it back a year later when he was dissatisfied with how it was being run. Perhaps during that short period of time much of the damage could have been done that we are seeing coming to a head today.

So, if you are looking for debt relief, proceed with caution with any of the debt management companies out there, but don’t hesitate to talk with them altogether. You just have to find the one that you feel is the best fit to get rid of your credit card debt once and for all. And the only way you are going to do that is to just fill out their form and see what they have to say.
